John Cale, a key member of the Velvet Underground in the '60s, joins English guitarist Chris Spedding (a popular session guitarist for many years)
for shows Wednesday night at 8 and 10:30 at the Central Tavern. Cale, who studied classical music before joining the Velvet Underground, is
known for his daring and unpredictable albums. Spedding's songs include "Motorbikin,' " a 1976 British hit, and "Guitar Jamboree," in which Spedding
imitated the styles of several famous guitarists. Ian Fisher, leader of now-defunct Seattle band the Cowboys, and Terry Lee Hale of Northwest rock
band the Ones open both shows. Tickets are $10 in advance at Ticketmaster outlets.
