June 19-August 11, 2006
The show was reviewed by the Weekly Volcano Art Critic, Alec Clayton, who hade this to say about the show and our work submitted... There's some good stuff in the fourth annual Juried Local Art Exhibition at The Gallery at Tacoma Community College. There's also some dull stuff and a few paintings that are so amateurish I can't imagine how they got in the show. Oh well, that's the nature of juried art exhibitions. They're manic-depressive. The Gallery hours are 9a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; admission is free. The Gallery at TCC, in its fourth year of operation, provides space for student, faculty and outside art exhibits. It also provides students in TCC’s Museum Gallery Operations program a hands-on space in which to learn. The 2,000 square-foot gallery was designed by schacht-aslani architects of Seattle and constructed by Construction Enterprises and Contractors Inc. of Tacoma. The Gallery is located on TCC’s main campus, 6501 S. 19th St., Tacoma. To access The Gallery, use the entrance just off South 12th Street between Pearl and Mildred streets. For more information, call 253.460.4306 or visit The Gallery pages. |
